How Do I know That Invisalign Invisible Braces Are Right For Me?

Invisalign can now be used to address many cases, from the simple to the more complex, so if you are uncomfortable about wearing traditional ‘train track’ braces it may be the perfect solution for you.

The only way to know for sure whether you are a good candidate for Invisalign clear braces is to speak to a qualified Orthodontist who has undergone Invisalign training to evaluate your case in detail and determine if Invisalign is an appropriate treatment to meet your needs.

During the consultation, you will have an opportunity to ask the Orthodontist any questions you have about the Invisalign treatment, including the costs, dental/orthodontic insurance, or any other concerns you may have.

What happens next?

Once you decide to go ahead with treatment your Orthodontist will take x-rays, pictures and impressions of your teeth. Invisalign will then use these images to create a digital 3-D image of your teeth which your Orthodontist can use to map out a personalized treatment plan, including the exact movements of your teeth. Using this same cutting edge technology, your Orthodontist will show you a virtual 3D representation of how your teeth will move with each stage of your Invisalign treatment.

How do Invisalign Braces work?

Once your Orthodontist has created your individual treatment plan, a series of custom-made, clear aligners can be created specifically for you. Your Invisalign aligners or ‘invisible braces’ are made of BPA-free plastic, a smooth and comfortable material that won’t irritate or tear your cheeks and gums like traditional metal braces often can. They are designed to be worn throughout the day, and removed whenever you eat or brush or floss your teeth. Every two weeks, you move to a new set of aligners, advancing you to the next stage of treatment. Each set of aligners is designed to gently and gradually shift your teeth into place. And because Invisalign braces are virtually invisible, people won’t even notice that you’re wearing them!.

How often will I see the Orthodontist?

To monitor your progress, your Orthodontist will schedule appointments at approximately six weeks intervals. At each stage of the process, you will be able to see how close you are coming to achieving the smile that reflects the real you.

How long does treatment with Invisalign braces take?

While every case is unique, treatment will typically take a year for adults. For teens, the treatment timeframe is comparable to that of braces, but as your teeth won’t be covered by brackets and wires, you will be able to see improvements much sooner. For best results and a faster outcome, we advise that you wear your aligners for between 20 and 22 hours per day, throughout the duration of your treatment.
